We are working hard to ensure the safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers by implementing a range of hygiene and physical distancing measures, adhering to the guidelines issued by the Victorian Government. Please read the following information carefully to help us protect everyone’s health.

Before your visit:

  • Please book a timed-entry ticket online prior to your visit. Tickets can be purchased by clicking the ticket button below. (Please note, Heide’s main galleries are currently in change over period. The amended admission price is $15 and $10 concession, which includes entry to four exhibitions currently on display).

  • Heide Members and children under 16 who receive free entry to the museum also need to register their timed entry ticket to ensure their place.

  • Please plan to arrive at the Heide Galleries main reception at your allocated time and wait to be checked in by our Visitor Services staff.

  • We are encouraging contactless payments, so please bring a credit or debit card for any on-site purchases.

  • We ask that you please do not visit if you are unwell, have experienced cold or flu symptoms in the last 14 days, or have returned from overseas in the last 14 days.

When you are at the Museum:

  • Please start your visit at the Heide Galleries main building to be checked in. All visitors are required to also check in using the QR code provided at the main entrance.

  • Please use the hand-sanitiser provided at each building on arrival.

  • Help us to maintain social distancing within our buildings and grounds by keeping at least 1.5 metres space between you and others at all times and not entering a room if it is not possible to safely distance yourself.

  • Please arrive on time for your booked session.

  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow or a tissue and put the tissue in a bin.

  • Wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds in our restrooms.

  • Please wear a mask unless a lawful exception applies. For information on exceptions see:

  • Cloaking facilities will not be available so please do not bring large items of luggage with you.

It is a condition of entry that all visitors adhere to these requirements at all times during their visit.

Health and safety measures we are putting in place:

  • Clearly marked entry and exits with signage to help visitors maintain safe distances.

  • Each of Heide’s exhibition buildings has a maximum capacity, based on the rule of 1 person per 2 square metres. Please follow instructions from Heide staff.

  • We have removed some seating in the gallery spaces to allow for physical distancing. Folding chairs are available and cleaned regularly, please ask a Visitor Services staff member if you require a chair.

  • Cleaning of the site will be undertaken daily complying with DHHS and WorkSafe guidelines, with high touch areas sanitised frequently throughout the day.

  • All Visitor Services Staff are trained in maintaining health and hygiene protocols.

  • We will continue to be guided by the Victorian Government’s health guidelines and will provide updates to this information.
