Playing a vital role in the daily operations of the Museum, volunteers are valued members of the Heide team. In supporting the Museum, volunteers have the opportunity to become part of the Heide community and form a deeper connection with inspiring art, architecture and landscape.


Visitor Services
Volunteers participate in the daily activities of the museum; providing courteous and comprehensive information to visitors whilst invigilating in the galleries.

Volunteers support the delivery of our learning programs and events which provide a bridge between Heide and school audiences. Time spent volunteering with schools at Heide can be accredited towards the renewal of VIT registration.

Volunteers assist in the routine maintenance and presentation of key areas of our grounds, including the Heide I gardens, Heide II kitchen garden, the Rose Walk and the sculpture park.

Public Programs
Volunteers support the delivery of our public programs by providing high quality tours of the exhibitions, Heide history, gardens and sculpture park.
