The Premier of Victoria, The Hon. John Brumby MP, officially launched the redevelopment of Heide Café on Monday 31 March 2008.

The building project commenced on Monday 14 April 2008 and the redeveloped café opened November 2009.

The new café, by Chris Connell Design, responds to the existing structure, part of the award-winning McGlashan & Everist suite of buildings, while bringing a fresh approach that provides a unique experience for visitors to Heide.

The café redevelopment is the last of Heide's building program and was made possible with funding from the Victorian Government, through Arts Victoria and the Sustainability Fund managed by Sustainability Victoria, philanthropic and business partnerships.Read more about Heide Café redevelopment...
